One of the first (2003) applications of Generative AI for industry
|
TyreGen™ was one of the first applications
of Generative Artificial Intelligence applied to industry. TyreGen™ is a
software tool capable of analyzing thousands of tyre treads and generating a
new pattern with the required characteristics. TyreGen™ was built with a
Multilayer Perceptron with twelve hidden layers, 50 inputs and 2000 outputs.
Approximately 1000 tire designs associated with specific road characteristics
were used as training set. The training process ran for several months on an
Intel Xeon processor with 4 DSP coprocessors on PCI cards. TyreGen™ has been
developed as part of a research project in a large Japanese tire
manufacturing company. |
