SAVE-360™ is a Soldier Advanced Vision Extender designed for
special operations in isolated combat situations where the soldier would
monitor the surrounding area in 360 degrees. Three cameras ensure continuous
360-degree monitoring of the surrounding terrain, alerting the soldier to the
presence of movements to the right, left and behind. The output of the
individual cameras is exposed to the soldier only in the case of movement
detection. At the instant of motion detection, the DBS algorithm isolates the
moving pattern and an on-chip RBF-RCE neural network identifies the pattern
with levels of danger for the soldier’s safety. Night vision or
thermal-imaging cameras are a possible option.
