In Air Reverberation (IAR) Test is a scientifically
recognized type of test that allows to verify the correct functioning of the
ultrasound probe by analyzing the reverberation image produced by the probe
when the silicone impedance adapter is in contact with the air (In Air
Reverberation). This type of test allows to highlight
problems in the probe and can be carried out in the field (hospital, medical
analysis laboratory). The type of IAR test we have designed
uses the Neuromem® neural chip which, inside the
probe, processes the signals transmitted to the ultrasound apparatus,
highlighting anomalies with respect to a reference model learned in the
factory after the validation tests with phantom. Each type of anomaly can be detected: ·
detachment of the layers of
the silicone lens ·
loss of sensitivity ·
breaking of ceramic elements ·
disconnection of channels at
the wiring level ·
detachment of the silicone
layers |

BI2ART™can be implemented as a software inside Ultrasound Ecography Machines connected to a central database of
exchangeable probes |

|
BI2ART™ can be implemented as a HW design inside the USB or Wireless
Ultrasound Probe |

|
BI2ART™ can be implemented as an extension box for existing USB
Ultrasound Probe models. The currently developed model works with Neuromem®
chip sw emulation. It can also work with Brilliant Neuromem® Dongle or can be made to host Neuromem® M2 boards. When the button is pressed the FPGA inside the box directly analyzes
the USB protocol of the probe extracting the IAR image and providing the
anomaly signal as output. |
